2019 VA Mental Health Summit

On behalf of the Alexandria VA Health Care System we invite you to attend the:

2019 Mental Health Summit

The purpose of the Summit is to enhance the mental health and well-being of Veterans and their family members through increased collaboration between the VA and the community. The goal is to enhance access to mental health services and address the mental health care needs of Veterans and their family members by bringing together key community stakeholders.

The topics of this year’s educational presentations include:

  • Whole Health
  • Suicide Prevention.

The Summit will begin with a brief presentation on resiliency as it relates to suicide prevention presented by Linda Heiman, LCSW and will be followed by an educational segment on Whole Health. The presenter for The Introduction to Whole Health is a Veteran passionate about the Whole Health approach as it encompasses the importance of mental health. During the Mental Health Summit, various Whole Health inspired booths will be available and provide an opportunity to network, gather, and share information. To end the morning, all Summit participants are also invited to join VA staff in the VA2K Walk & Roll on our beautiful Pineville campus. The annual VA2K Walk & Roll is a walk of approximately 1.2 miles that encourages people to live active lifestyles.
